My Name (:
My name is Greek for rational. I have many nicknames, but to most people I am just Alyssa. Some of my friends call me Liz or Lyss. My best friend Hallie calls me Lysnay, Luke, or Nikoli. To my grandpa I am Muffin and to my dad I am Tiger.
I wasn't named after anyone in particular, or at least not that I know of. My mom liked the name Alyssa, so when I was born it was between Alyssa or Kyle. When they found out I was a girl Alyssa was the obvious choice, so here I am, Alyssa Renay Forsyth in the flesh.
Over the years I always wanted to change my name. The name changed several times as I got older but I have always liked Riley and Chloe. Looking back now though, I couldn't see myself with any other name. I really actually prefer Alyssa.
My name has never been extremely common. When I do come across people with my name though it is almost always spelled differently. I am glad. I like being unique and unusual.

Lindsey!
My cousin Lindsey is a very thoughtful, patient, and kind person. She always thinks about others before herself and she hates when people do things for her. For the most part she is constantly hanging out with me or her family. When she isn't doing those though, she is either talking to her friend Joe or hannging out with him. He is mostly who she thinks and talks about because he is a major part of her life. Lindsey is one of those people that everyone loves! She is tall and beautiful with curly dark hair and an amazing personality. Also, she is very fun and always coming up with random ideas. She is good at making any situation fun for anyone. Lindsey is pretty much amazing.
Laughter
Clayton and I don't look like siblings...not right away. Not the way you can tell with Bekah and Josiah who have the same cheery smile like everyone else in their family. But me and Clayton, we are more alike than you would know. Out humor for example. Not the usual silly humor of Bekah and Josiah's family, but sarcastic and quick like a snake striking. And other things I can't explain.
One day we were watching family guy that, in my mind, is the funniest show ever. I don't know why. There was nothing about that show that seemed like the shows I usually watch. I'm not even sure why I thought it, but it seemed funny.
Watch this, I said, its hilarious.
Bekah and Josiah look at me like I'm crazy, but before they can let out a sigh, Clayton says: Yes, it's funny all right. That's what I was thinking exactly.

Those Who Don't
Those who don't know any better come into our neighborhood disgusted. They think we are all inbred hicks. They think we will attack them with tractors and crops. They are city people who are completely clueless when it comes to the country.
But we aren't too scary. We knows the guy on the tractor is just an innocent farmer, and the big one next to him in the old jeans with the farmer's tan, that's the nice ex-con that just needs a job, and the skinny one that looks like a twelve year old, he's Bones, another ex-con who takes care of the animals.
All cornfields all around, we are safe. But watch us drive into the city and our country music gets turned up and our car windows get rolled down and our eyes look proud. Yeah. That's how it goes and goes.

Yo, Hollywood! Where Are The Latinos At?!?!?
I believe there is alot of truth in this article. I have never noticed how few Latinos are in movies, and that the few that are are always seen as bad people related with drugs and gangs.
